NOORS

Artic Shelf Oil & Gas 2008 Project Noors 2006-2008 investigates the possibility of using liquid natural gas, LNG, in the northern parts of Finland and Sweden.

Project Noors is a jointly EU-finance project between Tromsø and Finnmark county together with Norrbotten County in Sweden. Huge amount of natural gas is located in Barents sea. Probably it's 25% of the earth's gas recourses in the Barents sea. The Snöhvit field outside Hammerfest are already working and the Stockman Field outside Murmansk will be explored in 10 - 15 years.

This natural gas recourses in the neighbourhood of the northern parts of Finland and Sweden, was the incitement to start this project.
