Quality Certification – NCCI/Murmansk.

Main project owner: The Federation of Private Enterprises in Norrbotten. (Företagarna)

Over the next 10/15-year period, the largest industrial contracts ever undertaken in northern Europe will take place in the Murmansk oblast. (Preliminary 40-50 billion USD).

In connection with these contracts, goods and services, business representatives in the region have identified a need for closer networking between locally based and export-ready SME companies.

Networking is based on international quality certification under the ISO 9001, ISO14001, of a selection of companies in a number of defined sectors in Sweden, Finland, Norway and Russia. In addition, the companies will participate in seminars related to ISO26000, who means that the companies will work with their corporate social responsibly.

Specific aim of the project is the establishment of transnational networks between companies to jointly be able to submit offers in connection with the procurement and construction of the certification centre in:
-         Murmansk (North Chamber of Commerce and Industry).
-         Luleå (The Federation of Private Enterprises in Norrbotten).
-         Hammerfest (Energy Campus North).

As a result of the project, 15 SME-companies from each country in a wide range of industries to be certified. E.g. construction activities, infrastructure construction, transport, energy, electricity and plumbing, higher energy technical education, building materials, building components, maritime security. Public and private companies in port operations, transportation, etc.

The project starts in the end of 2010.
